Antonio Conte:Antonio Conte will make a late attempt to convince Kylian Mbappe to join Chelsea, having identified the French starlet as the ideal replacement for Diego Costa.
A host of cubs are trying to sign the 18-year-old sensation this summer, with PSG recently joining Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City in the hunt for his signature.
And now according to Le10sport, Chelsea will make a big play for Mbappe in the coming days, with Antonio Conte set to meet the player and his entourage over a potential transfer.
The Italian manager has reportedly been given a huge summer war chest to strengthen his squad, while he will also hope to land a big fee when Diego Costa is sold.
The Spanish striker, wanted by the likes of AC Milan and Atletico Madrid, revealed he had been told he was no longer in Conte’s plans, and the Blues hope to fetch at least £50 million for him this summer.
That should give Chelsea the necessary funds to bankroll a €130 million (£114m) bid for Mbappe, though convincing him to join will be even harder than convincing Monaco to sell.
Mbappe has already gone cold on Man City and Pep Guardiola, while he is slightly more positive about moving to Madrid even though he risks sitting out of the first XI.
At Chelsea, he would line up in a front three alongside Belgian duo Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, with the latter widely expected to re-sign for the club from Everton.
Nevertheless, it is Madrid who are at the most advanced stage of negotiations with Monaco and Mbappe, and Chelsea have a lot of catching up to do in a very short amount of time.
